Our Mission

Operation Ackerman was established to honor the life and profound contributions of Dr. Timothy Ackerman, DDS, MD, FACS, Captain, USN RET. As a dedicated oral and maxillofacial surgeon, passionate teacher and beloved mentor, Tim, in his special way, was sure to instill value in others every day.

Our beloved Tim was a gentle and courageous man who was ultimately overwhelmed by the shadow of symptoms of Lewy Body Dementia (LBD). The disease holds significance for our family as his own father succumbed to the devastation of LBD. In Tim’s honor, our mission is to channel our grief into action by directly supporting LBD research as we are hopeful and determined to break this painful cycle for others.
